Grand Bend Legion June Calendar Update
“JACK & PENNY” will be performing at Grand Bend Legion on Saturday June 9th instead of “Ron Allin and the Pickups”
They are a duo that performed at the Forest Film Festival and got great reviews!

Fireworks Question
Recently, the Board was contacted by a member looking for information about the use of fireworks in Huron Woods.
We contacted the municipality and reviewed BY-LAW NUMBER 16-2008, which deals with selling and setting off of Fireworks within the Municipality of Lampton Shores.
The By-Law states that Fireworks are prohibited, but does provide exceptions on certain dates and in specific Wards.
However these 2 statements in the By-Law indicate that it would be unlawful to dicharge fireworks (without special permits from the Municipality) in the Community of Huron Woods.
“No person shall discharge any family fireworks in such a manner as might create danger or constitute a nuisance to any person or property, or to do or cause or allow any unsafe act or omission at the time and place for the discharging of any fireworks.”
“No person shall set off any fireworks in the Municipality within 500 feet of any woodlands”
For more information please click the link below to review the By-Law.
Please help protect our beautiful woodlands.

News
As a courtesy, we thought you may wish to know that we have hired security patrols for our gate on the long weekends this summer.
There are always non-authorized people attempting to gain beach access on weekends, but it is worse on the holiday weekends,
Also, last summer a few of our newer members have attempted to keep people from sitting on the beach in front of their cottages. We have clarified this issue by sending a newsletter to our members to inform them that all BOP and HWCA members are entitled to use the beach for normal recreational purposes.
We will continue to keep your Board informed of any issues of mutual interest.
